Paulo Santos - Saxophones Erik Telford - Trumpet Sam Pankey - Bass Jaron Marshall - Piano Stephen Bidwell - Drums Stephen Bidwell and Jaron Marshall have been members of Austin’s psychedelic-soul hitmakers, Black Pumas, since their breakout in 2019. Often on the road—in bus lounges, green rooms, and hotels—one would say to the other, “We should book a hard bop date when we’re home for a minute.” When a date finally became available, they called some friends and selected a setlist featuring some of their favorite tunes from the funky early-'60s Blue Note catalog.
