As a touring and recording musician, he has worked with legendary artists such as Linda Rondstadt, Lloyd Price, Sonny & Cher, Dolly Parton, Joan Armatrading, and Eric Burdon, while also arranging, performing, and producing music for TV, film, and live concerts. Inspired by a deep love of jazz, blues, and orchestral music, Red has drawn from a rich tapestry of influences, including Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, Ray Charles, and Booker T. Over the years, he has led projects blending complex arrangements with accessible, audience-friendly performances. Notable highlights include his big band, Red and the Red Hots, which performed across the U.S. and collaborated with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and his 8-member ensemble, Red Young and His Hot Horns. In addition to touring and arranging, Red has released several albums of original music and continues to perform and create.
